You know what’s better than new music? A new music video AND a tour announcement at the same time! My guess is you’re thinking something along the lines of “C’mon Meg, you know that’s too good to be true” but one of our favorite Floridians just turned that fantasy into a reality!
At 4:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday March 31 while I was supposed to be paying attention in class, Jake Miller teamed up with Teen Vogue to premiere his “Dazed & Confused” music video. The ridiculously catchy track and its accompanying video, both featuring Travie McCoy, prove once again that Miller has never released a bad song. For the past two weeks, Jake has been posting teasers nonstop, doing everything in his power to prepare his Millertary for the four-minute video. But after watching the “Dazed & Confused” video multiple times in a row, it’s clear there was no preparing us for the creativity within the video video!
The music video puts visuals to that “love at first sight” feeling we’ve all experienced while walking past a stranger. You know what I’m talking about. The video includes Jake’s head in a freezer, Travie McCoy in a hotel room, an Austin Mahone appearance and a completely unexpected ending. I can’t explain how all of the components fit together but trust me, they do! And I’m not the only one who thinks so. The Internet has blown up with positive feedback since the Edgar Esteves directed video was released! Jake has called it his “favorite so far” and even told us he couldn’t wait for us to see it He insisted we would love it and well, he was right! We’re pretty sure you’ll love it too so be sure to check it out immediately!
Sidenote: Jake, you could tell me “I’m sorry, I love you” whenever you want! Another sidenote: Jake, I wouldn’t mind if you decided to wear that jeans/flannel combo everyday. Just saying! Okay, sorry, back to the music…
As if the video premiere wasn’t enough excitement for your Tuesday afternoon, Jake has also released the dates for his upcoming The Dazed and Confused Tour. During a trip to New York City’s Z100 last week, Jake shared that he’d be heading on the road this summer but didn’t provide any other details. Well now that we know what’s going on, we’re urging all of you to buy tickets as soon as they go on sale! For the most part, tickets and more information regarding the tour will be available within the next two weeks so start saving! But that’s not all! Alex Angelo and Jasmine V are joining Jake on the road and I guarantee the WeKnowTheDJ team will be in the audience for a show or two… Or a few!
For those who haven’t seen the tour announcement, be sure to check out the dates below. If you don’t see your city on the list, don’t panic—Jake says a few more dates will be added! So let’s take a look at where Jake’s headed this summer…

While Jake hasn’t spilled any secrets about his upcoming album, I’m pretty sure it will be flowing through your headphones within the next couple of months. After all, he needs to have new material in order to have a successful 20+ city tour. But we’ve been keeping an eye on Jake’s recent actions and it’s evident that he has no shortage of new material! We know Jake recently spent time in Los Angeles recording an abundance of songs during his countless hour in the studio. And just last week, he posted a color-coded but blurry picture on Twitter with the caption “Gonna be a hard decision which songs make the album and which get cut.”
Either way, we expect Jake’s debut album with Warner Brothers to be nothing short of great. After all, his talent is undeniable. While we wait to hear what’s next send us a tweet @weknowthedj, we want to hear your thoughts on the “Dazed & Confused” video. Also, be on the lookout for a Jake Miller WeKnowTheDJ exclusive, coming sooner than you think!
