Introducing Gallo Deuce

When you have the privilege of calling DJ Tay James your boss, you’re automatically introduced to some life-changing opportunities. Over the past three years, this position has given me the chance to form incredible relationships and it has exposed me to some incredible talent. As a team, we have this sort-of unspoken understanding that as soon as Bossman gives an artist his seal-of-approval, we need to check out said artist. Tay James might be tough to get in touch with but when it comes to music, he definitely knows what he’s talking about.

Back in early 2014, Tay introduced us to Gallo Deuce, an unsigned artist from Baltimore with game-changing potential. As time has progressed, Gallo has made numerous appearances on WeKnowTheDJ Radio Volume 4, WeKnowTheDJ Radio Volume 5, WeKnowTheDJ webisodes and in Tay’s personal day-to-day life. If you follow DJ Tay James on social media or listen to the WeKnowTheDJ Radio mixtapes, you have seen and heard Gallo! But now, it’s possible for you to hear even more from the Baltimore artist…

On Saturday May 23, Gallo dropped a new mixtape, appropriately titled The Westside Wolf, exclusively on DatPiff and Spinrilla. I know they say a picture is worth a thousand words but after hearing The Westside Wolf, I only need one emoji: the flame. Trust me, this twelve-track tape, hosted by our very own DJ Tay James and the legendary DJ Alizay, needs to make its way to everyone’s playlist immediately. In true DJ Tay James/DJ Alizay fashion, the tape has its fair share of ‘drops’ so if you enjoy hearing “DJ Tay James Wow Wow” or “Alizay zay zay zay” as much as we do, you’ll love The Westside Wolf.

The tape’s tracklist includes “Baltimore Has Arrived,” “Tokyo Drift,” “92Q,” “A Pimp Got High,” “He Gone,” “The Cold Bastard,” “Westside Wars,” “Pablo in December,” “Braveheart,” “Smokin’ With a Rebe,” “Family Ties” and “Boys in the Hood.” Any of those tracks sound familiar? They should! “Baltimore Has Arrived” was featured on WeKnowTheDJ Radio Volume 4 and “Boys in the Hood” made an appearance on WeKnowTheDJ Radio Volume 5. Back in 2014, we also posted the DerekDidIt-directed video for “Tokyo Drift” on our site. If you keep up with all things WeKnowTheDJ, chances are you’ve seen the video but you and I both know that won’t stop me from posting it below!

Although the “Tokyo Drift” music video stands on it’s own, that didn’t stop Gallo from teaming up with DerekDidIt and DreamUrban to drop a viral video two weeks ago as the world focused on his hometown. My words can’t do the “92Q” video justice so just check it out below and let us know what you think at @weknowthedj.

With tracks that will make you want to turn up and tracks that will make you think, The Westside Wolf is arguably the most versatile mixtape of 2015. As time goes on, I guarantee we’ll see plenty more from Gallo and I know I can speak for the entire WeKnowTheDJ team when I say we’re so excited to see where the future takes him. Stay tuned to weknowthedj.com for all things Gallo because we’re always on his side!
